MUNICIPALITY OF MORRIS-TURNBERRY

JOINT HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING

Date- September 12, 2008  Time    12 noon  Place- Council room – 41342 Morris Road

Minutes

1.     Call to order: The meeting was called to order by Nancy Michie at
                         12:25pm will all members in attendance.

In attendance:

                        Nancy Michie

                        Barry O’Krafka

                        Ross Goll

                        Kim Johnston

                        Barry Shaw

 

2.     Minutes of the last meeting

The Minutes from August 15, 2008 were reviewed.

There were no comments from the Minutes.

The Minutes were approved by Consensus.

 

3.     Unfinished Business

There was no unfinished business to discuss.

 

4.     Regular Reports:

a.     Workplace Inspections-  Inspection Results -  The Inspection reports were looked at.

Dates and Times for the next Health and Safety inspections were set for October 20th and 27th.

New Inspection reports for hazards were given the Committee.

Bill Thompson and Steve Fortier will go through the Bluevale Hall and see what needs to be completed.

 

b.     Health & Safety Course Results

The Health & Safety Course Results were given to the Committee members. 

The Course outline and dates for the next Health and Safety Workplace Training were given out. 

           

c.      Reports from members.

Kim reported on the First Aid Kit requirements and will make up lists pertaining to each specific location of the first aid kit.

Kim reported on what is to be posted at each Health and Safety Display board.

Kim handed out Form 82, which is to be posted on the Health and Safety Display board.

Ross Goll would like to know about getting Winter Safety Coats for the Landfill.  The policy was looked at and The Landfill attendants will be able to get Winter Safety Coats.

Barry O’Krafka reported that he has placed the Health and Safety Green books in the Pickups and 2 ton trucks. 

Barry O’Krafka has called Pletch Electric and Somers about a stand alone Generator. 

Barry O’Krafka will take the quote for the Generator to the Emergency Management Meeting.

 

 

5.     New Business:

There was no new business.

 

 

6.     Date of Next meeting – The Next Health and Safety Meeting will be held on Friday October 17, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Morris-Turnberry Council Chambers.

 

 

 

 

7.     Adjournment – The Meeting was adjourned at 1:00pm
